Derrière la fenêtre is a work for flute and electronics inspired by Roberto Bolaño's The Savage Detectives. Like the novel, the piece moves through contrasting modes of address: diary-like fragments, layered narrative episodes, and looping transformations accumulate and dissolve across its duration.
The electronic part is designed in close dialogue with the performer. Performer-triggered sounds, real-time processing, and additive synthesis all respond to and extend what the flute proposes, creating a single composite voice rather than a duet between acoustic and electronic layers.
