— About
Nube Molecular takes its title and its formal logic from the astrophysical phenomenon of the same name: a vast region within a galaxy, dense and cold enough to allow molecular hydrogen to form, that becomes the cradle of new stars when gravitational instability causes parts of the cloud to collapse and fragment into countless protostars.
The piece transposes this slow process of accumulation, instability, and fragmentation into orchestral terms, working with gradually shifting densities and textures that condense, destabilize, and break apart much like the stellar nurseries that inspired it.
